The William C. Abney Academy Construction RFP Q&A

 

      1. Is the Academy currently working with an architectural firm? If so, whom? 

We are not currently working with an architectural firm.

 

      2. What projects do you need done?

We want to transform underutilized space which includes creating a staff lounge on our lower level. More projects may be available based on future funding such as a kitchen renovation and roof replacement.

 

      3. The timeline in the RFP talks about starting work the spring 2022; is that mandatory?

Our target date for the planning phase is April of 2022. The selected vendor and the Academy will work together on a timeline for actual construction.

 

      4. It says that you want to pursue a construction manager agreement utilizing an at risk contract ( AIA CMc 133?), would you consider an Construction Manager as  agent contract format? (AIA CMa 132)

At this time we prefer an at-risk contract, but other contract formats may be permissible pending legal consultation.
