The MI Kids Back on Track grant funds (MCL388.1623g) will support programs provided before school, during school, after school, or during the summer. These funds are designed to address unfinished learning, get students to grade-level academic standards, provide additional academic assistance to students at risk of falling behind their peers, or help high school students prepare for postsecondary education.
This webpage has been developed to support Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in the application process for the MI Kids Back on Track grant program. Information and resources will be posted as they become available. Please revisit this webpage periodically for updates. Updates will also be sent out via the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Weekly Communications email as well as the monthly Continuous Improvement Newsletter. In the meantime, the legislative requirements for funding eligibility are listed below, which might be helpful for preliminary planning.
