William C. Abney Academy is a free public charter school serving students in Developmental Kindergarten through 8th grade in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
 

As a public charter school, Abney is tuition-free and open to eligible students. Families choose our school for a caring, personalized learning environment where students can build strong academic skills, meaningful relationships, confidence, and independence.

Kindergarten is an exciting beginning. Students build foundational academic skills while developing confidence, independence, curiosity, and the routines that support successful learning.

Students joining Abney in later grades become part of a learning community focused on academic growth, meaningful relationships, increasing independence, and preparation for what comes next.
